The mission of the Anderson Humane Society is to make possible a better world for all animals by providing shelter, educating the community about humane care and treatment, advocating animal welfare, and promoting the human-animal bond.

*The Humane Society was formed in 1981 to help solve the problem of unwanted dogs and cats in this region.
*The Humane Society helps reunite lost pets with their loved ones.
*Volunteer staff works with foster homes, rescue organizations, and trainers to place special-needs animals.
*Humane Education Programs are carried out in public schools and organizations in Anderson County.
*The Humane Society recognizes volunteers as the backbone of our organization, fundraising, and administrative operations.
*The Humane Society is dedicated to putting a stop to animal abuse and neglect, serving in cruelty investigations and representing those who have no voice.
*The Humane Society has a spay/neuter assistance program, in cooperation with local veterinarians.
*The Society's newsletter is published once and month and is distributed to over 100 members.
*The Humane Society puts on several community events including the annual Giant Rummage Sale, Pet Portraits, and several other fundraisers.
*Volunteers conduct offsite adoption days in local businesses to increase adoptions.

The Humane Society is an all-volunteer organization. It has no paid employees or salaried officers. The Society receives no funding from local, state or federal governments. Operating expenses are supported by tax-deductible, voluntary contributions from the public. All money received is used solely for the animals. Please help us help the "voiceless".
